1. Classic Khoya Gulab Jamun



Ingredients

  • 1 cup khoya (mawa), grated

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (maida)

  • 1/8 tsp baking soda

  • 2 tbsp milk (adjust as needed)

  • Ghee or oil for frying

Sugar Syrup

  • 1½ cups sugar

  • 1½ cups water

  • 3–4 crushed cardamom pods

  • Few strands of saffron (optional)

  • Rose water (1 tsp) or rose essence

Instructions

  1. Mix khoya, flour, and baking soda. Add milk little by little to form a soft dough. Rest for 10 minutes.

  2. Make small smooth balls.

  3. Fry on low heat until golden brown.

  4. Soak in warm sugar syrup (not boiling) for at least 1 hour.


2. Bread Gulab Jamun (Quick Version)



Ingredients

  • 6 slices white or milk bread (edges removed)

  • 1/4 cup milk (to bind)

  • Ghee for frying

Syrup & Flavouring

 (Same as above)

Instructions

  1. Crumble bread slices and add milk slowly to form a dough.

  2. Roll into smooth balls.

  3. Fry until golden and soak in warm syrup.

  4. Serve warm or chilled.


3. Sweet Potato Gulab Jamun (Healthy Twist)



Ingredients

  • 1 cup boiled, mashed sweet potato

  • 2–3 tbsp whole wheat flour or maida

  • A pinch of cardamom powder

  • Ghee/oil for frying

Syrup

 (Same as above)

Instructions

  1. Mix mashed sweet potato and flour to make a soft, non-sticky dough.

  2. Shape into balls.

  3. Deep fry on medium heat.

  4. For one to two hours, soak in flavored sugar syrup.


4. Stuffed Gulab Jamun (Dry Fruit or Chocolate Filled)



Dough
 Use classic khoya mixture.

Stuffing Options

  • Finely chopped dry fruits (pistachio, almond, cashew)

  • Small chocolate chips or grated chocolate

Instructions

  1. Fill each dough ball with stuffing by making a small dent in the center..

  2. Seal and shape into balls. Fry and soak in syrup.

Tip: Chocolate-filled ones taste great slightly warm!


5. Paneer (Chenna) Gulab Jamun



Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh paneer (crumbled)

  • 1 tbsp semolina (sooji)

  • 1 tbsp all-purpose flour

  • A pinch of baking powder

  • Ghee for frying

Syrup

 (Same as above)

Instructions

  1. Knead all ingredients into a smooth dough.

  2. Roll into small balls and fry on medium-low heat.

  3. Soak in sugar syrup and serve.
